Can you get kicked out of the Navy DEP for missing DEP meetings?

One of the recruiters at my local recruiting station organizes monthly DEP meetings for females only. This Saturday is the scheduled meeting and her commander or something is going to be there. She called me and said I had to attend, but I can't go because I will be attending a funeral out of state. I told her this and she was acted like a total B***H, making it seem like I made it up to get out of a DEP meeting. I am an adult, and if I didn't want to go I would say so. She isn't my actual recruiter, but can she kick me out of Navy DEP for missing this or any meeting?
