I have a unique quilt idea. Would an exper quilter please reply?

Wow, this was the question for me to answer. I just did this exact thing in october with my daughters baby clothes. I felt the same way i didnt want to cut them up and it was my first time quilting or sewing. I took her clothes and sewed them directly onto the fabric. I put the outfit she came home in in the center and then positioned the rest around it. You dont have to cut the front off first, just sew the whole thing on there and thats it. I didnt put anything inside the outfit before i sewed it on the blanket but i did think about it to give it a more 3d effect. It turned out so cute and since it was my first it means so much.
