I'm being sued for almost 50k over a minor car accident. But other party is lying?

Last year, back in October, I was driving on a major road and I was in the middle lane and then stopped when the light turn red. I turn to my right and saw a store i needed to go to, so i turn my right signal on and when the light turn green i switched to the right lane the driver saw me doing that and accelerated resulting in an accident. Speed was about 0-8mph..we pulled in the parking lot. I was very #$%@& and asked the guy why he accelerated. He said he did not see me. He was fine! I may add. We exchanged insurance information and he filed a claim against my policy. I was found at fault. My insurance paid $1,190 for minor exterior damage. Now...months later...I get a letter from my insurance stating that this a***hole got a lawyer and is suing me for almost 50k in bodily injuries. On the day of the accident I asked the guy towards the end if he was ok..he said yes...he asked me if I was ok I said yes. The ambulance/paramedics were never called to the scene. I know this person is lying! He is not injured and all he is after is after $$$$$. Any thoughts?
