Should i say something to my friend should i be upset?

so i got my friend 2 concert tickets for there bd and put them in a nice card. I never for a second expected that this friend would not take me as we are pretty close but did not recieve an invite and he took someone else. to be hounest i was in total shock and upset and let down very insulted. i am not upset that i did not see concert could care less but the fact that this friend did not even offer and took someone else very insulting.. what is the ediqueete if a friend got you tickets would you ever even think of not inviting him?? would you be let down???
