What is the meaning of "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" by U2?

They're saying that they tried to love, they tried religion, they climbed montains, they surped what most humans what do, but they still haven't found what they are looking for. They were fooled by illusion os grandeur. Life is an infinite experience, but they won't be fooled by trifles.
